Certification for Police Stations
With
the objective of achieving excellence in delivery of police services to the
citizens and to ensure transparency and accountability in the functioning of its
units, Chandigarh Police embarked upon the process of obtaining ISO 9001:2000
certification for its police stations in the year of 2007. The aim is that by
standardizing the functioning of the police stations, we can ensure quick
delivery of services, speedy investigation, time bound disposal of complaints
and transparency and accountability. In order to maintain the Quality Management
System a proper documentation structure is evolved consisting of Quality Manual,
Procedure Manual, Standard Operating Instructions Manuals, Records, Forms,
Documents, Plans etc. which
determine as to how the quality service is to be provided to get the
work done of desired quality and
also to specify the do’s and don’ts regarding
what type of work is to be
done.
The most important component of the ISO-9001: 2000 philosophy is the
citizen feed back which determines our efficiency. The citizens who came in
contact with the Chandigarh Police force for various reasons are able to give
